LG Display rollable OLED TV hands-on

LG Display’s 65-inch rollable OLED TV is only a prototype, so there’s no price or release date, but it’s still very cool. Senior editor Vlad Savov got a first look at the TV at CES 2018. Subscribe: https://goo.gl/G5RXGs

Thank god that box is not default. I was wondering who the hell wanted a hugeass box on their tvtable instead of a slim tv.

imagine if we didn't pump one more cent into the military industrial complex?

I wonder when they'll make smaller sizes and affordably sell it? This OLED drooling is dragging on for way too long. Would be cool to upgrade a planetariums world globe from low res film projection to wrap around OLED for one realistic looking miniature planetary model. Seems nothing is happening except the rich getting huge fabulous TV's.

Remember when Hands On meant that you are left alone with the product to test as you wish.
Now Hands On means you stand behind a line and the presenter shows you just what you are allowed to see and know.
Next time you visit a strip show you can tell everyone you were hands on with the stripper.

What if it got stuck after 5 years of unrolling? Does it mean we need to buy a new TV?

I’m not sure but something missing with this guy the way he delivers,it’s just bland and bland.

I haven't been excited in a TV for a LONG time. Well done LG! Now release in smaller size and I'm sold!

stupid concept tbh, the 21:9 is okay, but its taking a good 20" from the screen just to make it ultrawide

  • January 15, 2018 at 8:05 pm

So the innovation is to be able to hide the bottom of the screen and call it foldable screen 🙂

  • February 1, 2018 at 6:47 am

roll it down for 21:9 then? OLED is both the best and worst tech for that scenario, why not a laser projector instead?

Why would u want a rollable TV? Cuz it's damn cool. sometimes "coolness" is worth every penny.

You need rolable handheld devices like phones not tv that stay in one place entire time

This is amazing! With this principle, the screen could be even bigger, getting very lose to beamer sizes, and yet not take up any wall space when not used; genius!
