Samsung’s One UI beta program for the Galaxy S9/S9+ starts next week

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ running Android 8.1 Oreo

At its annual developer conference earlier this week, Samsung announced quite a few things including its brand-new smartphone software – One UI – which is set for release in January. But Ahead of this, the company did confirm that a beta program would soon happen. And now we know when.

According to Samsung’s own customer support team in Germany, the Android 9 Pie Beta program will commence next week, on November 16 to be precise. In order to be eligible, consumers must own either the Galaxy S9 or the larger Galaxy S9+. Moreover, this news suggests that users based in the US and South Korea will also gain access to the program on the same day. After all, these countries are part of the first phase of the rollout.
Once the beta is up and running in the mentioned markets, Samsung will then expand it to China, France, India, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, the number one manufacturer hasn’t confirmed when this will happen, so users could be in for quite a wait.
Aside from being based on Android 9 Pie, the new One UI introduces a completely revamped interface that places all important content on the bottom half of the display, leaving the top half for viewing. Furthermore, it brings a range of updated icons that complement new on-screen buttons. Also, a brand-new dark mode has been added.

window.fbAsyncInit = function () {
FB.init({
appId: ‘152451818130304’, // App ID
version: ‘v1.0’,
channelUrl: ‘//www.phonearena.com/channel.html’, // Channel File
status: true, // check login status
cookie: true, // enable cookies to allow the server to access the session
oauth: true, // enable OAuth 2.0
xfbml: true // parse XFBML
});

// Additional initialization code here
};

// Load the SDK Asynchronously
(function (d) {
var js, id = ‘facebook-jssdk’;
if (d.getElementById(id)) {
return;
}
js = d.createElement(‘script’);
js.id = id;
js.async = true;
js.src = “http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js”;
d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(js);
}(document));
